Reading to your child is one of the most important things you can do as a parent. Since vocabulary begins to develop at birth and continues throughout the child’s life, it is important for parents to make sure that their child is read to on a daily basis. Studies show that when a child is read to at an early age, they are better prepared to be successful in school. Additional research shows that sharing stories with your child helps develop narrative and listening skills as well as improves the imagination. Read together often and stop by your local library for reading and audio suggestions for all age groups.
Help the kids you love become lifelong readers and writers.
