Fines & Fees
Overdue Fines
- Adult Books and Materials - 30 cents/day/item
- Juvenile Books and Materials - 20 cents/day/item
Exceptions:- Videos & DVDs , adult or juvenile - 3.00/day/item
- CD-ROM Programs, adult or juvenile - 3.00/day/item
No fines are charged for days when the libraries are closed.
If you owe $20.00 or more to a library, you will not be allowed to check out materials at any of the libraries until the charges are paid in full.
Maximum Fines
- Adult Books and Materials - $10.00 per item
- Juvenile Books and Materials - $5.00 per item
Exceptions:- Videos & DVDs, adult or juvenile - $10.00 per item
- CD-ROM Programs, adult or juvenile - $10.00 per item
Lost and Damaged Materials
- If an item is lost you will be charged the full retail price of the item plus a $5.00 processing fee.
- If found and returned to the library within one month, payment for a lost item (minus any overdue fines) will be refunded.
- If an item is damaged beyond repair you will be charged the full retail price of the item plus a $5.00 processing fee.
Lost Library Card Fees
- The replacement fee for a lost Lower Merion Library System Card is $3.00.
