Reference Librarian, Ludington Library – 37.5 hours/week
Position Overview: Work involves responsibility for the providing of reference/information assistance to library patrons. Duties include providing answers to reference questions, instructing patrons in the use of online resources and electronic catalog, carrying out collection development, inter-system and inter-library loans. Assists patrons in using LMLS resources, provides Reader’s Advisory and assists with library programming. This position also has the responsibility for making professional level technical decisions. The work requires that the employee have good knowledge, skill and ability in reference sources, library services and information retrieval methods and keeps current on technology trends, including social media awareness.

Page positions are part-time positions with no benefits. Typical schedules are for evening and weekend hours. Pages must be 16 years or older and work well with the public and computers. Duties include: shelving library materials, checking materials in & out, registering patrons for library cards, collecting fines & fees, assisting with opening & closing the building.
