Lower Merion Library System provides services to the 58,000 residents of Lower Merion Township through six community libraries: Ardmore Library, Bala Cynwyd Library, Belmont Hills Library, Gladwyne Library, Ludington Library, and Penn Wynne Library.

LMLS also participates in Access Pennsylvania, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's statewide card program.

The Lower Merion Library System was founded in 1935 and became the Township of Lower Merion's agency for providing library service to the residents of Lower Merion Township (Montgomery County, PA) in 1960.

Lower Merion Library System currently circulates in excess of 1,400,000 books, magazines, videotapes, audiotapes, and compact discs annually, making it one of the most active library systems in the state on a per capita basis.
